1). No thermal radiation: LED light contains UV contents from a wavelength of 400nm upwards only and is thus particularly suited for food and for light sensitive materials. The range of wavelengths in the emitted light is closely limited: a mixture of blue and yellow in the areas of 460nm and 570nm respectively for the white LED. (IR: 780–12500nm)

2). Low maintenance cost: In comparison to conventional lighting, which requires frequent bulb replacement, LED systems are maintenance-free. Provided they are properly manufactured, the product life of LED lighting systems is approximately 50000 hours. This means, with an assumed usage of 10 hours per day and 6 days a week, they last for about 16 years.

3). High Reliability: LED systems are extraordinarily robust – none of their components can break or leak. LEDs have a high resistance against shock and vibration, and thus offer maximum reliability.

4). Quick Operation: LED systems begin to emit light immediately after being switched on, even at low temperatures – there is no flickering.

5). Agreeable Pure Light: Thanks to the optical elements, LED light is strongly focussed and has a very good colour rendering. The human eye perceives it as an agreeable, pure white. By including coloured LEDs, the resulting overall colour of the light can be mixed almost at random.

6). Environment-friendly: LEDs are mercury-free and lead-free. In contrast, common fluorescent tubes contain mercury. LEDs can be disposed of through normal waste.
